Alianse Sonae is the largest administrator of shopping centers in Brazil, with more than 40 shopping centers, present in the five regions of the country. One of the enterprises managed by the company is Parque D. Pedro Shopping, which operates as a shopping, leisure, entertainment and gastronomy center in the region of Campinas and now has its online marketplace.
The scenario
During 2020, many businesses were affected by the pandemic scenario, including shopping malls that were unable to open to the public for much of the year due to trade closure regulations and social isolation rules. Many of these shopping malls found in technology an alternative to not only continue selling, but also evolve the way the business works.
This was the case of Shopping Parque Dom Pedro, which saw the opportunity to insert its physical mall tenants in an online sales environment that functions as a marketplace. Therefore Alianse Sonae, the mall's administrator, sought our assistance to develop an online complex, where all the physical mall tenants could be inserted and from there, sell the products of the physical stores in an online environment.
The project
The project was developed on the VTEX platform, which has solutions for commerce and marketplace. The main reason for choosing the platform was the possibility of offering digital services to partner retailers and better environment management.
In the middle of the development process, we had two main challenges, the first one was to enable the layout created by the brand in the platform limitations, our team performed very well, delivering a visual in the client's expectations.
The second main challenge was to develop a unified login, which allowed the store's customer to register and authenticate outside the VTEX platform. To solve this, we integrated with a server that makes it possible for the customer to be authenticated both inside and outside of VTEX.
The result
Now, the tenants of Shopping Parque D. Pedro have a unique environment to make online sales in a marketplace own of the Shopping.
This business model will add value both to the customer, who will have access to his favorite stores, and to the retailer, who will be able to sell through a new channel and increase his sales.
